We are Kindred
We are Kindred
Known for the luxurious floral prints of their We Are Kindred label, siblings Lizzie and Georgie Renkert are poster girls for keeping it in the family. The pair took time out from preparing their latest collection for Australian Fashion Week to host a celebratory lunch for colleagues and friends.
It’s clear ‘We Are Kindred’ is far more than a name; on the evidence of this lunch, it’s a statement of intent.
On a warm summer’s day on Sydney’s lower north shore, every guest – friends and colleagues alike – took the opportunity to show their support for the brains behind the Australian fashion label, sisters Lizzie and Georgie Renkert, by donning one of their “bohemian chic” creations.

“Everyone’s wearing Kindred,” laughs Lizzie, a former magazine editor and avid host. “That’s the thing, we always are, too.
Most people wear our designs to a wedding, we wear them to school pick-up!” Special occasion or everyday outing, We Are Kindred is on a roll, celebrating five years of success in the highly competitive industry at today’s gathering. “In business, that does tend to be the gauge as to whether it’s working,” says Lizzie.
This sister act is only getting started!

Style“In terms of the colour palette, my home is very much what Kindred is like,” says Lizzie. “It’s very pretty, there’s lots of dusty pink, but there’s also a little bit of black; it’s not prissy.”

Playlist“Jake Meadows (Georgie’s husband) is our favourite musician, and he’s a jack of all trades. He’s a harpist, a composer, a song writer, a guitarist, a pianist. He does all of the music for our Fashion Week shows and he is on in the background all the time.”

Drinks“French bubbly tends to be what we love. Then rosé and pinot … nothing too heavy. And Baileys and milk at the end of the night. That is our jam!”
